Trevor Lawrence beats Zach Wilson in top 50 NFL jersey sales

Quarterbacks Trevor Lawrence and Zach Wilson were selected with back-to-back picks in the 2021 NFL Draft and they will (rightly or not) be compared throughout their football careers. Last season they faced off and Wilson got the better of Lawrence, leading the New York Jets to a 26-21 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 16. However, the former Clemson Tiger got the last word.

The NFL Player Association (NFLPA) recently released the Top 50 Jersey Sales list from March 1, 2021 through February 28, 2022, and Lawrence appeared at age 32. He beat Wilson and other more established players such as the Green Bay Packers. wide receiver Davante Adams (33), fellow quarterback Jalen Hurts (35) and even San Francisco superstar wide receiver Deebo Samuel (43). In fact, Wilson barely made the cut at No. 50.

On the other hand, Lawrence trailed other NFL stars such as former Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson (26) and running back Derrick Henry (21), rival of the division. Tom Brady took first place and Patrick Mahones finished second. Here’s the full list in case you want to check it out.

Trevor Lawrence will move several places if the Jaguars start winning.

It is highly unlikely that only Tampa Bay Buccaneers fans have purchased Tom Brady jerseys. The same goes for Patrick Mahomes, because it’s impossible for only those who support the Kansas City Chiefs to buy his gear. Brady and Mahomes top the sales list because they were two of the most prominent players in the league and made their teams compete at a high level. If Trevor Lawrence can do the same for the Jaguars, his merchandise will be bought in larger volumes.

Likewise, other Jaguars players will also appear on the list if they start winning. Injuries aside, running back James Robinson doesn’t have a bigger national profile because the Jags haven’t been very good in a while. If cornerback Tyson Campbell picks up where he left off in his promising rookie campaign, he could also have a realistic shot at making the cut.

Another Jaguar that could appear on the list is rookie defensive lineman Travon Walker. As the first pick in the 2022 draft, the former Georgia Bulldog could grab national attention if he makes an impact from the get-go.

Would it be nice to see Jaguars other than Lawrence make the NFL’s 50 best-selling jerseys list? Of course, but it will happen once they start winning football matches regularly. Once the victories arrive, their merchandise will be in high demand.
