NFL.Shop.com recently released a list of the 25 best-selling jerseys of the 2010 NFL season. Steelers Safety Troy Polamalu won Broncos rookie QB first place Tim Tebow, which held the top spot until November. Despite the fall, the big Gator ended up finishing No. 3 and was the only rookie to make the roster.
Due to Big Ben’s off-field issues, Steelers fans turned their full attention to Troy Polamalu’s No. 43 jersey. In the past five years, no defensive player in football has come close to selling as many shirts as the wild-haired cornerstone of the last Steel City dynasty.
Despite having a season-long train wreck, the Dallas Cowboys led all teams with three players finishing in the top 25, which could be attributed to the fact that Wade Phillips has nothing to do with selling jerseys.
the Steelers, Packers, vikings, Jets, Eagles and patriots finished tied for second place, with each team contributing two players to the top 25. As usual, field generals dominated sales jersey sales in 2010, with Quarterbacks making up almost half of the top 25 (12).
By far the most surprising player to make the list was the running back for the Cleveland Browns Peyton Hillis, who finished #22 thanks to a combination of Fantasy Football performances, heavy drinking before the game, and the loss of LeBron James. Below is an overview of the full list of the 25 best selling NFL jerseys from the 2010 NFL season.
