Interim manager Ralf Rangnick enjoyed a successful start to his career at Old Trafford as Manchester United claimed a relentless 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace.

Defending champions Manchester City finished the weekend at the top of the Premier League with a 3-1 win at Watford after Chelsea lost 3-2 at West Ham, although the Blues had some success with a victory over Arsenal in the delayed Women’s FA Cup final at Wembley.

Outside of football Lewis Hamilton won a Saudi Arabian Grand Prix full of incidents to equalize with Max Verstappen in the Drivers’ Championship, China’s Zhao Xintong won the British Snooker Championship and Viktor Hovland won the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas.
