(NEXSTAR) – Tom Brady isn’t just one of the greatest of all time – GOAT, if you will – on the football field. According to new data, his jersey has sold more than any other NFL player in more states than anyone else.
Lids, a clothing and hat retailer, recently published a map showing the best-selling NFL player’s jersey in each state. Brady, the recently retired Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback, was by far the most popular, topping the list in 18 states. That includes two — Michigan and Indiana — that have their own NFL teams.
Brady was most popular in Florida, unsurprisingly, as well as New England, Midwestern and Western states, as well as Alaska and Hawaii.
Close behind Brady was Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, whose jersey was most popular in Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri and Arkansas. Two other quarterbacks – Lamar Jackson of the Baltimore Ravens and Dak Prescott of the Dallas Cowboys – were each top sellers in three separate states.
It wasn’t just quarterbacks that were top sellers, either. In 10 states, jerseys belonging to other offensive players were the most sought after. In Minnesota, for example, Vikings wide receiver Adam Thielen was the best-selling jersey at the Lids.
NFL fans in one state, in particular, were surprised by the best-selling player’s jersey in their territory. Wisconsin, home of the Green Bay Packers and quarterback Aaron Rodgers, had rival team quarterback Justin Fields of the Bears as its top-selling jersey.
However, not all is heartbreaking for the Cheesehead State. In a second card, Lids has revealed the best-selling team jerseys in each state. In most cases, like in Wisconsin, the local team won. The Brady Buccaneers outscored other teams in eight states, beating the home team in Indiana and New England.
Nine teams were not selected, including the Super Bowl-related Los Angeles Rams, Washington Commanders and Indianapolis Colts.
