Six more Nittany Lions receive their first NFL jersey numbers

During this year’s NFL Draft season, 15 former Penn State football players headed to the NFL. Following, some of these playersincluding Jahan Dotson and Jack Briskergot their new jersey numbers.

During his tenure at Penn State, defensive lineman Arnold “AK” Ebiketie dominated in his No. 17 jersey. Now, AK will wear the No. 47 jersey with the Atlanta Falcons.

In Atlanta, Ebiketie will have a familiar face with him on the defensive line in Derrick Tangelo. Tangelo signed as a free agent with the Falcons shortly after the NFL Draft and will wear No. 99.

After the 49ers took him in the sixth round, defensive back Tariq Castro-Fields will wear number 36 in San Francisco.

Athletic linebacker Brandon Smith will wear the No. 40 jersey for the Carolina Panthers after being selected in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

After the draft, Smith was joined in Carolina by running back John Lovett, who signed as an undrafted free agent. Lovett will wear number 37 as he battles for one of the team’s limited spots.

Former Penn State wide receiver Irvin Charles also signed as an undrafted free agent. With the New York Jets, Charles will wear jersey No. 82, which was last worn by Jamison Crowder.
