Healthgrades Excellence in Obstetrics and Gynecology Award, Excellence in Labor and Delivery Award, Excellence in Gynecology Surgery Award and 5 Star Recipients Awards recognize RWJBarnabas Healthcare Institutions as top hospitals nationwide to provide top quality care to women during labor and delivery, and gynecological procedures.
By analyzing patient data from 16 individual states from 2018-2020, the Healthgrades 2022 Women’s Care Awards recognize the nation’s top 10% of hospitals for clinical excellence in labor and delivery, obstetrics, and gynecology and gynecological surgery. Six RWJBarnabas Health Facilities received Excellence Awards and Toms River Community Medical Center was one of only 17 hospitals nationwide to receive all three Excellence in Women’s Care Awards, placing the facility among the top 5 % of top rated hospitals for labor, delivery and gynecological surgery. , and among the top 10% for obstetrics and gynecology. Belleville’s Clara Maass Medical Center, Newark Beth Israel Medical Center and Monmouth Medical Center each received two honors: the Excellence in Labor and Delivery Award and the Excellence in Obstetrics and Gynecology Award. Additionally, eight RWJBarnabas Health hospitals are 5-star recipients for vaginal delivery. This distinction – earned by RWJ University Hospital, Clara Maass, RWJ University Hospital Somerset, Newark Beth Israel, Community Medical Center, Monmouth Medical Center, Cooperman Barnabas Medical Center and Trinitas – means that on average, the patients these hospitals have a 45.1 – percent less risk of suffering a complication in the hospital than if the patient was treated in a 1 star hospital.
Five RWJBarnabas Health hospitals, including Clara Maass, RWJ University Hospital Somerset, Newark Beth Israel, Community Medical Center and Trinitas, have been recognized as 5-star recipients for cesarean delivery. Data from Healthgrades shows that in 5-star hospitals, on average, patients have a 65.9% lower risk of experiencing a complication during their hospital stay than if they were treated by 1-star hospitals.
University Hospital and RWJ Community Medical Center were recognized as 5-star recipients for hysterectomy; on average, patients undergoing hysterectomy in 5-star hospitals have a 65.1% lower risk of experiencing a complication during their hospital stay than if they were treated in 1-star hospitals.
