New USBC Youth jersey unveiled

ARLINGTON, Texas – The young members of the United States Bowling Congress had the chance to help decide on the style of jersey they will wear on the slopes for the 2012-13 season, and soon they will be adding the new look to their collection.

The USBC Youth Jersey is one of the perks for members of the USBC Youth Standard. The latest version of the popular jersey will be sent to young bowlers who purchased their membership through leagues that started after March 15, 2012.

This is the third jersey design, but this time the USBC Youth members were able to help select the style. Young members received a survey that featured several design options and voters overwhelmingly chose the design which is predominantly black and white, with red highlighting the USBC Youth ‘star’ logo on the sports jersey.

The jerseys once again have that professional look with the inclusion of logos from two of the best bowling ball brands – Storm and Ebonite – on the sleeves.

“The jerseys have been a hit since they debuted a few seasons ago,” said Chad Murphy, general manager of youth development for the International Bowling Campus. “This year we wanted the kids who wear them to have a say in the look. We had several great styles to offer and almost everyone agreed with this design.”

Adult leaders and others can go to to buy their jerseys. The jerseys will again have an open back design so that they can be personalized by leagues and individuals.

The USBC launched the jersey program as part of the USBC Youth Standard membership at the start of the 2009-10 season.
