Jersey City man touched women and girls at pool: prosecutor

UNION CITY, NJ — This man touched multiple women and girls at the Union City swimming pool, Hudson County District Attorney Esther Suarez claimed Tuesday.

Ashokbhai Vaddoriya, 40, of Jersey City, was taken into custody on Sunday on charges of sex crimes involving two women and two girls at the Union City public swimming pool.

The victims were a 12-year-old girl, an 11-year-old girl, a 33-year-old woman and a 34-year-old woman, the county attorney said.

The man did not know them. The unwanted sexual contact happened while they were queuing and in the pool itself.

Vaddoriya is charged with two counts of sexual assault by contact, second degree, two counts of third degree endangering the welfare of a child and two counts of criminal sexual contact in the fourth degree.

He was arrested at the Hudson County District Attorney’s office in Jersey City and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance.

The Hudson County District Attorney has filed a motion for detention, meaning she would like him to be held in jail, and that hearing is tentatively scheduled for this Friday.

This investigation and arrest was carried out by the Hudson County District Attorney’s Office Special Victims Unit and Union City Police.
